Thoughts on Sunday

Colossians 2:6-7
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

I can't teach enough Sunday School, sing in the choir, work in the nursery, teach the little children, (insert as needed), to repay Jesus for what He's done for you and me.

Praying for guidance. Jesus and I have talked about patience many times. He knows how I feel on the subject.

Sidenote- All this low pressure is messing with my head and giving me headaches. And I don't like cold/rainy weather.

Fatsos

A couple years ago (3 actually), my sister had her 2nd child. My parents got her a baby swing or something. My mom felt guilty about buying baby things for my sister and wanted to be fair, so she got me an automatic litter box for my cats. The LitterMaid Elite Advanced Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box. Which was pretty cool, actually. After the cat uses the box, it would sanitize the air for a few minutes, then it would rake all the "stuff" that Carlos or Layla had left into a container. Kept the air clean, kept all the "stuff" in a contained area until it was time to empty it.

It was pretty nice. The first couple of times it did its thing, it was a little loud. Caught you off guard, scared the crap outta Carlos. You got used to it.

Fastfoward to yesterday morning. 6am. I get out of the shower and am getting ready to dry my hair because I have to be at work at 6:30am. I open the door to the computer/cat room (its where their litter box and food are, and where they sleep at night. We're not having Jungle Cats on my bed at 3am), and Carlos comes out like a cannon. "MOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMIMISSEDYOUINTHE5HOURSIWASAWAYFROMYOU MOMOMOMOMOMOMOM!!!"

Shhh, you're too loud. I hear the litterbox raking. I go pick out some clothes for work. It's still raking. Come into the computer room and the thing has broken. One of the side wheely-gears has broken off into the litter. So the box has been trying to rake and it can't make it to the end, to dump the "stuff" into the container. All the while Carlos is all "MOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMMYTOILETISMESSEDUPMOMOMOMOMOMIMISSEDYOUMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOM!!!"

I turned off the litter box, turned it back on. Repeat process. Realize that it's broke and I have to get a new one. But its already 6:15am, and I have to be at work in 15 minutes. Hair will be going up in a clip today.

I had all intentions of getting a new litter box yesterday, but I was so tired that I came home and took a nap. Didn't wake up until about 6:00pm or so, and continued to be lazy. Put on some clothes to go get Taco Bell, and spent the rest of the night on the couch.

So I went to Petsmart today and got a new litter box, the Booda Clean Step Litter Box.

I figured with the name Booda (Bhudda) it was meant for fatsos, like my cats. It doesn't auto-clean, but it has air filters and a cover. And a walkway that's supposed to collect litter and keep it inside the box and off my floor. We'll see.

I'm Alive!

Just checking in. I'm alive, just been working. And playing. My modem got fried by the storms we had a few weeks ago, and I was really lazy about getting it fixed. I tried to fix it myself, ended up with a computer virus. So I finally got around to taking it to the shop. Got it fixed, and thats when I figured out it was the modem that was at fault.

So I'm back up and running. Dont worry, I've been keeping up with all of your blogs, I just havent been updating mine.

I lost my summer

Hello friends!

So my boss went on leave for like, a month. But he's back and all healed from his surgery. Camp was fantastic. We had 11 baptisms! Pretty incredible, huh?

ECU is about to start up again, which will be great for business. It's been ridiculously slow around these parts, so we're cutting payroll where we can. However, I'm not looking forward to the increase in traffic.

I am, however, looking forward to football season! The new stadium looks great!

I had a playday with Molly yesterday. It was so fun! We went to Jumpin' Parties, lunch, Target, and the pool! Whew, she wore me out.

I should be at the gym running, but I really need to go to the grocery store. I have like, no food in the house. I should remedy this situation quickly.

Oh, and Leslee is officially a NC resident, even if I havent seen her yet. We'll get around to it. She's just been really busy since they got back. Busy? Whats that? No one's busy around here!

Ok. Off to the store. I grabbed a few recipes from my Mom when I was home last week, and I'm interested to see how they work out!

Have a lovely week!

Hello, Summer

Hello friends! Sorry to be so long is writing. Let's see.......where was I?

Oh right, I had another 5k in May. I did alright. Not as fast as I would have liked, but I was by myself and didn't have anyone to pace me. I did have my MP3 player, but it's not the same as having someone to talk to while you run. And try not to stop.

ECU has let out for the summer, which means that our workload has slowed down a bit. Granted, there are some students in summer school, but it normally doesn't bother us.

My boss went on vacation for a week, came back and worked for a two days, then went out on leave. He had to have foot surgery (again). Same foot! Thankfully, he went ahead and created the schedules an entire month out, and even put reminders on days for me. Reminders like, conference calls on Monday mornings at 11am, payroll is due by 9am alternating Mondays, etc. Pretty nice of him to do that.

My sister officially has her Master's degree! She tested, turned in, presented everything yesterday. I wasn't nervous, I knew she could do it.

Camp is in a few weeks. Since my friends Clee and Lara have retired from camp, that leaves an open spot for Dorm Mom. And since I'm the female counselor with the most experience, that means I get to be Dorm Mom. But that means I have to stay up in the front of the dorm, instead of my back room on the left. I love that room! But Julia will have one of the back rooms. I've trained her well :)

I'm a little nervous because I'll be in charge of crafts this summer at camp. I've helped Lara with crafts, but I've never been in charge of it. I'll have to pick her brain sometime soon.

You can come visit us at camp. You may be sent in search of Bojangles too!

I think my boss is trying to kill me

No, not really. Wednesday was just a really really really busy day at work, especially after I'd been on vacation since last Friday. And had an amazing time on vacation, by the way.

Thank you Leslee and Adam, for letting come and visit once again. Thanks for letting me meet your friends, too! Now I have new blogging buddies (I'm looking at you, Jamie), and some new Facebook friends.

Today was the last day of classes at ECU. All of the art students applying for submission will be bombarding my store now until Monday. We'll need coffee, if anyone wants to donate or send ;)

I get to have dinner tomorrow night with my parents, grandmother and aunt (who came all the way from Delaware)! Getting together with family is always fun! And next week, I'll be going home so I can go ride with my parents on their motorcycles for their annual fundraiser.

I need to start running again next week. I have another 5k in May, this one for my church. I've taken like, 2 weeks off. I have like, 3 weeks to get ready. Thankfully I've already taken care of some distance running to get in shape. Now its just maintenance and endurance. I'd like to shave off some time this next go 'round.

I have to open tomorrow, and then close on Saturday. So.....I'm going to bed soon! Goodnight!

Closing the Semester

Hello friends! Long time no blog! While I haven't been posting very much, I have been enjoying reading your updates.

This Saturday, April 10th, Lara and I will be running in the Lace Up For the Cure 5k, which raises money for the American Cancer Society. I'm excited, but also a little nervous. I haven't had the chance to run outside this season, I've been running inside on the track and on the treadmill at the ECU Rec Center. But I got some better running shoes, so I should be alright. I'm not trying to be super competitive, however I will be keeping track of my time.

So if you're in the praying mood, please pray for safety for all involved (and maybe some good weather too).

Also, my parents will be leaving on Wednesday for their (annual now) 5 day motorcycle trip to the NC mountains. They want to ride The Tail of the Dragon, but part of its closed due to the rock slides. Yes. My parents have motorcycles, in case you didn't know.

And............my sister is leaving on tour for MACU this weekend and will be gone for a week. I'm sure she'd appreciate some prayers too.
